Chamber Committees

Governmental Affairs Division

Legislative Committee
Monitors state, federal and local issues that impact Chamber members. Advises elected representatives of Chamber’s position on proposed and existing legislation. Meets the third Friday of each month at noon inside Trezo Mare Restaurant.

Parks & Recreation Committee
Promotes the establishment and enhancement of parks and recreational opportunities in the Northland. Meets the fourth Tuesday of each month at 7:30 a.m. in the Chamber board room.

Planning & Development Committee
Investigates and monitors infrastructure development in the Northland and makes recommendations to the Board of Directors for specific action. Participates in City Manager meetings and Mayors’ Forums and communicates with elected federal, state, county and city officials. Works with MO Highway Transportation Department and Mid-America Regional Council. Meets the second and fourth Thursdays of each month at 7:30 a.m. inside the Chamber board room.

Membership Services Division

Ambassador Committee
The ambassador committee promotes good will to Chamber members by attending ribbon cuttings and grand openings. Ambassadors serve as greeters at monthly luncheons and breakfasts. Ambassadors welcome new members by delivering their new member packets and help build relationships with current chamber members. This committee meets the first Thursday of each month at 11:30 a.m. at a designated Chamber member's restaurant.

Events: Golf Tournament & Annual Auction
The following committees plan the special events of the Chamber. Committees are organized prior to the event date and meet once or twice a month until event completion.

Golf Tournament Committee meets the third Monday at noon from May to July.
Auction Committee meets the second Monday at noon from August to November.

Business Development Division

Work Force Development 
Task Force Assesses workforce needs and issues and works to provide solutions for Northland businesses. Meets as needed.

Leadership Development Division

Leadership Northland Committee
Consists of Leadership Alumni who help plan and improve leadership sessions for adult and youth. Provides a format for ongoing communication among emerging & established leaders through networking of ideas and involvement. Must be Leadership Northland Alumni. Meets on the fourth Monday at noon inside the Chamber board room from July through April. Provides future leaders, (high school juniors), with exposure to the business, legal, political, and educational elements that make the Northland strong and dynamic.

Education Committee
Promotes and advances positive relationships and partnerships between   education and business to enhance the quality of education in the Northland. Includes involvement in events such as the “Excellence in Education Banquet”, Educator’s Luncheon and other educational programs. Meets on the second Wednesday at noon inside the Chamber board room from September through May.
