About the Chamber
Message from the 2020 Chair, Matt Dority
Dear Chamber Members,
It is an honor and a privilege to serve as your 2020 Chair for the Northland Regional Chamber of Commerce. This Chamber has a long history of important accomplishments dating back 28 years where our ability and reputation to speak as a leading unified voice for the Northland businesses and communities has yielded great success.
I feel blessed to live in the Northland with my family and work for Evergy, your local energy company serving the region and Northland residents and businesses for over 137 years. This is an exciting time to be living and working in the Kansas City metropolitan area. The last several years of activity and announcements have created a sense of momentum and excitement, and the Northland is leading the way as a key driver of growth for the region. This serves as my inspiration for this year’s theme: Energized for Success!
This is also an exciting time to be part of the Chamber. Through the years this Chamber has built a network of community partnerships, an energized team of volunteers and cultivated civic leaders who are stepping up in leadership positions throughout our region. Our organization plays a critical role in advocating policy positions on emerging issues at the regional and state level that help fulfill our mission to enhance the business community, economic growth and quality of life in the Northland. As one of the fastest growing areas of the region, promoting high quality growth and development, increased infrastructure to support this growth, and supporting our excellent schools critical for workforce development are top public policy priorities.
We have an outstanding and dedicated staff, and the Northland Regional Chamber of Commerce offers many opportunities for you to get involved and represent your business or organization. Today we have over 700 business memberships actively engaged with the Chamber because you see that return on your investment, and we will continue to add new programming and services for our members. From various ongoing committee meetings such as government affairs, planning & development, education, or leadership, to numerous ribbon cuttings celebrating new and expanded businesses, networking breakfasts, luncheons and business after-hours, there is something for every person’s interest and schedule. You get out of your chamber membership what you put into it, so I encourage you to get energized and involved this year with these many networking opportunities!
I look forward to the Chamber’s upcoming year. Thank you for your continued support and active engagement with the Northland Regional Chamber of Commerce.
